The small print

By entering a competition you confirm that you are 18 or over, that the submitted work is your own, and that any collaborators have been credited at submission.

One entry fee covers one submission. Multiple entries are permitted, each paid separately. Entry fees are non-refundable once a submission has been received, including where an entrant later withdraws.

We reserve the right to disqualify a submission that breaches a competition rule, infringes third-party rights, or misrepresents authorship. Where a submission is disqualified for a rule breach, the entry fee is not refunded.

Prizes are paid by bank transfer within 30 days of the results being published, to the winner named on the submission. Where a team enters, the prize is paid to the named lead entrant.

The assessment is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding rankings or scores.

You retain full ownership and copyright of everything you submit, at all times, in every case.

Entering grants Design Something a non-exclusive, revocable licence to store and display your submission for the purpose of judging. This is the minimum required to run the competition.

If — and only if — you opt in to public display at submission, that licence extends to displaying your submission in the public competition gallery, on a project page, on your creative profile, and in editorial coverage of the competition results on this platform and its social channels, with attribution to you.

If you opt out, your submission is visible to the judges and platform administrators only. It will not appear in the gallery, will not be linked to a public profile, and will not be used in any promotional material.

You may change your public visibility choice at any time from your dashboard. Unpublishing removes project pages and imagery from public view. Recognition already awarded — a win or a runner-up placement — remains part of the public results record, because the results of a judged competition are a matter of record.

We never sell submitted work, licence it to third parties, use it to train models, or claim authorship of it.

We collect the account details you provide (name, email, password), the profile information you choose to publish, your submissions, and payment records held by our payment processor.

Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.

Your email address is used for account, payment and competition correspondence. Marketing email is opt-in and can be turned off at any time.

Profile fields are public only when your profile visibility is set to public. Location is shown at city level only.

You can request export or deletion of your personal data at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile and unpublishes your project pages; the results record of any competition you placed in is retained.
